Amid clashes on frontlines in Aleppo countryside | Turkish forces shell Kurdish-held villages and positions

Aleppo province: Turkish forces stationed in Sheikh Naser base in the eastern countryside of Al-Bab city have fired mortars on Kurheyouk and Al-Bowayhij villages in the same countryside.

Turkish forces also attacked the road between Tel Rifaat city and Sheikh Issa village and the villages of Al-Baylouniyah, Samouqah, Mar’anaz and Tel Madiq in the northern countryside of Aleppo. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

The Turkish bombardment coincided with clashes with machineguns between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces on the frontlines of Mar’anaz and Kafr Khasher in Aleppo countryside.

A few hours ago, SOHR activists documented the death of a member of the Turkish-backed factions and the injury of another, in violent clashes that erupted yesterday between regime forces and Turkish-backed factions, on the frontline of Fijat Himdan village in Al-Bab countryside eastern of Aleppo.

SOHR activists had reported that the Turkish forces fired heavy artillery shells on Tel Madiak and Sad Al-Shuhabaa villages in Kurdish-held areas in the northern Aleppo countryside, however no casualties were reported.

These developments came after a week of alarming calm on these frontlines.

On January 21, Reliable sources informed SOHR that two regime soldiers sustained different injures in an attack by the National Army factions with “TOW” missile on regime forces position in Al-Mayash village in Sheru neighbourhood on northwest Aleppo. The wounded soldiers have been transferred to Nubl Hospital in Aleppo countryside.
