Syria–Turkey border | Turkish Jandarma shot child while working in farmland west of Idlib

SOHR activists have documented the death of a child after being shot by Turkish border guards “Jandarma” while working on agricultural land in Durayya village, in Al-Darkush district, west of Idlib province, at Iskenderun border.

On January 25, SOHR activists documented the death of a civilian affected by the wounds he sustained when he was shot by Turkish Jandarma while he was near the borderline northern of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani).

According to Syrian Observatory statistics, the number of Syrian civilians who have been killed by the Turkish Jandarma since the beginning of the Syrian Revolution, has risen to 500 including 91 children under the age of eighteen and 45 females over the age of eighteen.

We, at the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), condemn attacks and violent pushbacks by the Turkish Jandarma against Syrian civilians who flee the woes of war near the Syria-Turkey border.
