Nearly 30 Russian airstrikes on ISIS areas in 48 hours | Number of raids reaches 666 since beginning of January

SOHR activists have reported that Russian warplanes executed 28 airstrikes on the Syrian desert in 48 hours, where SOHR sources monitored 12 Russian airstrikes today on areas believed to be sheltering ISIS fighters in Al-Rasafa desert in Al-Raqqa countryside.

Moreover, Russian warplanes executed 16 airstrikes yesterday, on several positions of the Syrian desert in Al-Rasafa desert in Al-Raqqa and Athriyah in Hama countryside.

With this, it brings the number of raids carried out by Russian fighters in the Syrian desert to 666 since the beginning of this January.

On January 28, SOHR activists reported that ISIS cells raided a regime position in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, where clashes with machineguns and RPG launchers took place between the regime forces and ISIS cells in Sa’alo village which is 30 kilometers away from the center of Deir Ezzor city, which left casualties among the regime forces.

These developments come in light of absence of Russian warplanes from the Syrian desert for 24 hours, however they returned today and executed four airstrikes on the Syrian desert.
