Electricity outage and high prices | Protesters break into electricity company in Aleppo

Aleppo province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that dozens of people have broken into the Turkish electricity company in Al-Bab city in east Aleppo countryside to protest against blackout for long hours and the increasing prices.

According to sources, dozens of people from Al-Bab city have broken into the city power station and have blocked the roads with burning tires of cars to protest the electricity cut for houses for a long time amid the harsh weather.

The protesters called for providing electricity throughout the day and stopping the unfair rationing that could last for 12 hours. They also called for amending the electricity prices after Turkish companies have increased the electricity prices recently.

It is worth noting that areas of “Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch” in Aleppo countryside have recently witnessed protests on an almost daily basis due to the increase of prices and rationing hours of the electricity.
