Training failure in “Putin-Erdogan” area | Turkish forces transport 1000 Syrian fighters to Turkey

SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces informed members of the military course “Special Forces”, which started training on January 17, that they will be transported to Turkish territory to complete the course.

Turkish forces located in “Putin-Erdogan” area have instructed the Syrian factions to prepare fighters willing to undergo courses inside Turkey, where the number of registered fighters reached 900 fighters.

According to sources, Turkish forces instructed the factions to continue training in Turkey after the failure in Syrian lands, with the intrusion of Syrian fighters due to the deteriorating living conditions in Idlib.

On January 26, SOHR activists documented meetings between Turkish leaders with factions’ commanders in Idlib, to calm fighters and civilians in the region, in light of the repeated violations against Syrians in Turkey.

Moreover, Turkish forces increased security checkpoints and their members during the past few days, fearing any reaction by residents whether military ones or civilians.

While on January 23, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces stationed in “Putin-Erdogan” area instructed their allied Brigades in Idlib to prepare over 450 Syrian soldiers in separate groups according to each faction, to bring them to Turkish territory in the coming days.
Moreover, Turkish forces instructed factions to accept any member that would was to leave to Turkey, however the Turkish leadership didn’t inform the factions about the reasons behind forming new groups.
On January 17, SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces reinforced a military post on the outskirts of Al-Ruwaiha village eastern to Jabal Al-Zawiyah Idlib countryside.
The military reinforcement comprised tanks, armoured vehicles and personnel carriers.
The importance of the military post comes from the fact that it overviews Ma’arar Al-Na’man city and the International Road “M5”.
SOHR activists reported that after Turkish forces conducted military exercises for Syrian fighters operating under Turkey-backed formations on various weapons, armoured vehicles, anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles, in Idlib, SOHR reliable sources reported that 25 officers of Turkish special forces entered Idlib province in north western Syria, to begin a training aimed at preparing 1,500 fighters of special forces to combat with Turkish soldiers in the event of war.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, the fighters will undergo high-difficulty intensive military exercises similar to Turkish military training at Mastoumeh Camp, Taftanaz Airport, Jabal Al-Nabi Ayyub in Idlib and Al-Tawamah positions and Abyan west of Aleppo.
On January 9, Reliable sources informed SOHR that Turkish forces officers have given a technical course on using the man-portable anti-aircraft missiles in Al-Mastomaha camp near Idlib city.
It is worth mentioning that the Turkish forces have been preparing for conducting full training for the Syrian fighters on anti-aircrafts weapons to use it in areas under control of “Putin-Erdoghan”.
According to SOHR, the current stage will focus on theoretical lessons on how to use the weapons that will be followed, in few days, by practical round for the excellent Syrian trainees who are estimated by 150.
With this course, the Turkish forces would have finished a training course on anti-armoured, Anti-artillery and ant-heavy machine weapons for more than 1,000 Syrian fighters serving under Turkey-backed factions in areas under control of the “de-escalation” zone.
