Homs | 25 Afghan families of Iranian militias travel to third station

Homs province: SOHR activists have reported that 25 Afghani fighters of Iranian militias left Palmyra with their families and headed east towards the third station 40 kilometers away from Palmyra city.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights sources in the eastern countryside of Homs in the Syrian desert, reported that militias operating under the banner of Iran have been equipping “Military training post,” near Marhatan village, more than 40 km from Palmyra.

The post is equipped with military and logistical equipment such as weapons, ammunition, dormitories, bunkers, underground rooms in camouflage tactics.

This new post is equipped to train new members who are recently joined to the ranks of  Iranian-backed militias.

This development comes amid ongoing incursion, overrun and strengthening Iranian presence in Syria and persistent intensified efforts to attract and lure young men and men, taking advantage of the deteriorating  living conditions by offering material temptations and other privileges to new affiliates.

Syrian Observatory sources have also added that Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (the IRGC) will be responsible for overseeing training operations in this post.

On February 5, SOHR Reliable sources reported that Iranian-backed militias in Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs, in central Syria, redeployed to new locations, where they stationed at “Meridian Palmyra Hotel, Zenobia Hotel and Ghassan Saad Hotels,” all located in the archaeological area, in the early house of Saturday morning.

It is worth noting that Iranian-backed militias deployed in regime-held areas were periodically changing their positions for fear of being targeted.
