Child soldiers | “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” abducts and recruits displaced girl from Afrin countryside despite all demands to end children recruitment

AS “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” (the Revolutionary Youth) continues attracting and luring minors to serve in its military ranks, blatantly violating human rights and international resolutions that the Autonomous Administrations and Syria Democratic Forces have signed, while neither the residents’ demands to stop exploiting and recruiting children to military ranks nor the international charters managed to put an end to the recruitment of children by “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah,” SOHR activists have reported that “the revolutionary youth” have abducted a girl child known by her initials as “M.F.” from Ain Al-Arab (Kobani), a 13-year-old displaced from Deir Ballout village in Afrin countryside and took her to their camps.

On February 17, SOHR sources reported that the “Child Protection” office informed the father of a child known as “Mohamed Azad Hasan”, who had been kidnapped by “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” (the Revolutionary Youth), that “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” had refused to hand over the child, despite the office’s demands during an interview on Alarabiya TV channel, as well as repeated demands by other bodies.

It is worth noting that the “Child Protection” office works on mediating between the families of kidnapped children and the kidnappers in order to bring the children back to their families peacefully.

Via the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the mother of “Mohamed Azad” appeals to the command of Syria Democratic Forces to set her son free. The family has lost communication with Mohamed at 08:30 pm on January 26.
