Daraa security chaos | Unidentified gunmen assassinate two regime soldiers in western countryside

Daraa province: SOHR activists have documented the death of two members of the regime-backed 5th Division, in an attack by unidentified gunmen on the highway between Ain Zikr and Tasil towns in the western Daraa countryside.

Accordingly, the number of attacks in Daraa province since early February has risen to 38, which left 30 people: 11 civilians, one security suspect, eight individuals with settled-status, three unidentified persons and seven members of regime forces, security services and “collaborators,” dead.
Since early 2022, the number of attacks in Daraa province has risen to 68, which left 53 people: 26 civilians, 20 regime soldiers, members of security services and regime “collaborators,” three individuals with settled-status, one security suspect, ex-ISIS member and three unidentified people, dead.
Since the beginning of the security chaos in Daraa in early June 2019, Syrian Observatory activists have documented more than 1,361 attacks and assassination attempts by gunfire and detonations of IEDs, motorcycle-bombs and car-bombs. These attacks and assassinations claimed the lives of 998 persons, categorised as follows:
• Five local gunmen of anti-reconciliation groups.
• 329 civilians, including 18 women and 27 children
• 425 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.
• 168 fighters of factions that struck “reconciliation and settlements” deals with the regime and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders.
• 31 Syrian militiamen affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces.
• 37 members of the so-called 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
• Three unidentified people.
