Abandoned babies | Baby girl found dumped in well in Homs city

SOHR activists have reported that residents have found a baby girl after they heard her cry inside a well in Al-Bayada neighbourhood in Homs city in the center of Syria.

According to local sources, the baby was unidentified and thrown in the well by an unidentified person. She was just few days age.

Residents managed to rescue the baby and take her out of the well, and transferred her to Al-Basel hospital in Homs city.

Accordingly, this is the fourth case where children are abandoned by their parents since 2022.

The first case was a ten month-old girl called “Roh”, who was found in Lattakia on January 6.

The second case was the 40 day-old boy called “Fagr”, who was found in Hama on January 13.

Meanwhile, the third case was an unidentified girl in Al-Silmiyah city in Hama countryside, who was found on February 22.

On the same context, a one month-old baby girl was found on February 22, in the entrance of a doctor’s clinic in Silmiyah city in Hama countryside.

According to SOHR reliable sources, three ladies found the baby girl in good health.

In mid-January, a 40 day-old baby boy was found in front of a building in Al-Khedr neighbourhood in Homs city.

Meanwhile, the child “Fagr” was found inside a cardboard box in front of a building in Abi Al-Fida’a suburbs in Hama city, next to a note with his name written on it saying “He is a halal son.”

Moreover, the child “Roh” was found in front of a hospital in Lattakia city on January 6, left on the side of the road without any information, where she was transferred to an orphanage in Rif Dimashq.
