Combating oil smuggling to regime-controlled areas | SDF confiscate fuel and pursue smugglers in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have documented the injury of a civilian from Al-Shahil town in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, where SDF members opened fire on him near Euphrates river while he was watering his land.

On the other hand, and SDF member was injured in clashes with smugglers in Al-Shinan town in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

Moreover, an SDF patrol managed to confiscate several quantities of fuel which was set to be smuggled to regime-held areas.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that tension had risen in Hawaij Bumasa village in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor as a person stabbed a SDF member with a sharp machine yesterday evening, after being prevented from smuggling diesel into regime-controlled areas then fled.

The SDF patrols surrounded the village and threatened the people with raid campaigns if the person did not surrender himself.

According to Syrian Observatory activists, members of SDF patrols arrested five people from the area.

Yesterday, Syrian Observatory activists monitored a demonstration in Al-Ezbah town in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the residents and displaced persons protested against the decision to halt the distribution of the second batch of heating fuel.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, there were confrontations between protesters and members of SDF patrol who have fired bullets into the air to keep protesters away from them. However, no injuries were reported.
