New arbitrary arrests in Afrin | Al-Sham Corps detains five civilians for ransoms

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of a patrol of Al-Sham Corps, which is close to the Turkish Intelligence, arrested five civilians from Al-Ghazawiyah village in Shirawa district on February 23, on charge of “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration”, and to collect ransoms from them.

Earlier today, Syrian Observatory activists reported that a patrol of the military police carried out a raid campaign and arrested civilians from Hakkaja and Marounieh villages in Shaykh Al-Hadid district on February 26, arresting three civilians for “going out in guard shifts during Autonomous Administration control of Afrin.”
On February 17, “Military police” arrested a civilian from Jaqlan Fawqani village in Shaykh Al-Hadid district, from his house in Afrin for unknown charges. Military police summoned him to receive his brother’s death certificate, who died under torture on February 1 due to a stroke after being tortured by Ahrar Al-Sharqiya faction members in Afrin.
The young man suffered a brain hemorrhage as a result of being severely beaten with a Kalashnikov weapon. The victim was taken to Turkish hospital to die of cerebral bleeding in the hospital.
