ISIS Resurgence | Attack on military bus leaves 35 casualties of regime members in Palmyra desert
SOHR activists have reported that a regime’s military bus was attacked by armed ISIS fighters near the third station in Palmyra station in the eastern Homs countryside, killing 15 regime soldiers and injuring 18 other soldiers with most of them being severely injured. Accordingly the death toll is expected to rise.
According to reliable SOHR sources, ISIS fighters attacked the military bus taking advantage of the bad weather and the dust storm that hit the Syrian desert.
Before the attack that left casualties, ISIS fighters executed an attack on regime positions at the T2 station in the center of the Syrian desert eastern of Homs, where SOHR activists reported this morning that ISIS mercenaries carried out a large-scale attack, on Damascus government forces points and its loyal groups, near Al-Sawab village at T2 station in the desert, east of Homs, taking advantage of the weather conditions, without information about casualties.
And day before yesterday, a car carrying 3 of Damascus government forces members was attacked near Sabkhat al-Melh area, east of Palmyra, in eastern Homs countryside, which led to the death of all of them.
The death toll during the military operations within the desert, according to SOHR, has reached 130 since the beginning of 2022, are: 69 ISIS mercenaries were killed by Russian air strikes in Homs desert, Swaydaa, Hama, Raqqa, Deir al-Zor and Aleppo.
And 61 Damascus government forces and loyal groups were killed in 21 ISIS operations in separate areas of the desert, by ISIS mercenaries attacks west of Euphrates, Deir al-Zor, Raqqa, Homs, Swaydaa, Hama and Aleppo.
