Accused of “sending videos to opposition media” | Regime forces arrest young man and his mother in Homs

Homs province: Reliable SOHR sources have reported that regime security forces have arrested a mother from Al-Ghanto village in north Homs countryside, a few days after arresting her son on charges of “taking videos and sending them to anti-Syrian regime media outlets. According to SOHR activists, residents and dignitaries in the region have asked the military police to release the mother, but the security men refused, claiming that they have orders from their commanders not to release the lady before the investigations are finished.

In February, SOHR activists have documented in areas under the Syrian regime control the arrest of 45 people, including three girls, on different charges, the most prominent of which are “evading the mandatory and reserve conscription in the regime army,” “communicating with foreign bodies,” and “cybercrimes.” They are distributed as follows:

• 19 arrests in Daraa.

• 11 arrests in Hama.

• Five arrests, including three girls in Latakia.

• Five arrests in Damascus and Rif Dimashq.

• Three arrests in Deir Ezzor.

• Two arrests in Tartus.

Meanwhile, SOHR documented the death of 45 civilians under torture in the regime prisons and detention centres in February 2022.
