Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that members of military police patrol had carried out large-scale arrests in Shadira village in Sherawa district in Afrin countryside over the past days, arresting six civilians for “performing military service during the former Autonomous-Administration control of Afrin,” in order to collect ransoms. Members of military police released two men for a ransom of 5,000 Turkish liras on Wednesday.

On March 23, SOHR sources reported that members of a patrol of the military police arrested the elder of Al-Hayat village in Maabatli district in Afrin countryside in north-west Aleppo countryside, after storming his house for unknown reasons. Meanwhile, residents accused the arrested man of “working for the Turkish intelligence.”

On the other hand, Al-Sham Corps which is close to the Turkish intelligence released a civilian from Kawinda village in Raju district in return for paying a ransom of 2,000 TL. The civilian had been arrested on March 18 for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.”
