Rif Dimashq | Body of baby girl found on Knaker outskirts amid conflicting stories of her killing

SOHR activists have reported that residents have found a deceased baby girl in one of the orchards in Kanaker town, west of Rif Dimashq, hours after she went missing last Friday. The girl has been transported to a hospital in the capital, Damascus, but she died.

This comes amid conflicting stories on the causes of death. One member of the girl’s family has said that she is dead in a motorcycle accident and had been thrown into agricultural land, but other sources have said that the cause of death may have been due to reprisals.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that a dentist committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with pistol in his house in Al-Janayen neighbourhood of Jaramana city in Rif Dimashq.

“Quarrels erupted between her and her husband after she asked for a divorce, then the man enter the bedroom and fired three bullets from his gun,” the victim’s wife said.
