Ongoing violations | Ankara-backed factions arrest more civilians in Afrin

Aleppo province: Syrian Observatory activists have reported that “Soqour Al-Shamal” faction has arrested two siblings from Karmouk village in Maabatli district for “Sending their sons to Turkey without informing the faction.” Later, the two men have been released after paying a ransom.

Moreover, members of a joint Turkish military police and intelligence patrol have arrested a man from Premjeh in Maabatli district and took him to the Turkish intelligence headquarters in Afrin for unknown reasons.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that members of a Military Police patrol arrested a woman from Rajo district in Afrin countryside on March 20, for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration”, to collect ransoms from her. Moreover, members of the Military Police arrested a civilian from Damliyah village in Rajo district for “receiving money transaction from SDF-held areas.”

On the other hand, members of the National Army-backed 112th Brigade arrested a civilian in a school in Rajo district, after framing him with theft and imprisoning him instead of two thieves who stole diesel from a school in Rajo district, where the thieves were affiliated to the 112th Brigade.
