“Peace Spring” area | Turkish-backed militiaman killed by military police commanders in rural Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that a militiaman of the Turkish-backed “National Army” from Suluk city was killed and dumped in Ajilah village in the west of Ras Al-Ain in Al-Hasakah countryside.

According to Observatory sources, that militiaman was eliminated by commanders of the Turkish-backed military police, after he detected an attempt by two commanders of the military police to help a group of ISIS members to sneak into Turkey in return for a large sum of money.

SOHR sources have confirmed that members of the military police have sent pictures of the dead militiaman with an “AK-47” rifle in his hand with the aim of portraying that the militiaman was a “smuggler” and that he was killed following clashes with the military police members.

Observatory sources have also confirmed that a commander of Al-Hamza Division had ordered the hit militiaman to join Turkish-backed factions to track developments of these factions.

It is worth noting that smuggling business has been escalated greatly due to the deteriorating economy and prevalence of unemployment.

On March 25, SOHR sources reported that nearly 280 people managed to cross into Turkish territory in 48 hours from the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah.

A day earlier, reliable sources informed SOHR that nearly 200 people crossed the Syria-Turkey border from Al-Darbasiyah in Al-Hasakah countryside in 24 hours with the aim of working in Turkey or sneak into any country of the European Union.
