De-escalation zone | Regime forces fire heavy artillery shells on areas in Jabal Al-Zawiyah

Syrian Observatory activists in the “de-escalation” zone have monitored renewed shelling by regime forces on areas in Idlib countryside, where regime forces have fired heavy artillery shells on areas in Fulayfel, Bayannin, and the vicinity of Al-Fatirah in Jabal Al-Zawiyah, south of Idlib. This attack coincides with the flights by a Russian reconnaissance aircraft in the airspace of Jabal Al-Zawiyah and Sahl Al-Ghab in north-west Hama countryside.

On April 11, SOHR activists reported that factions members shot a regime soldier dead in Al-Barij frontline in southern Idlib. In the same context, regime forces fired heavy artillery shells on “Putin-Erdogan” area, hitting Mara’at Al-Na’san town and its vicinity and Al-Fatera village in Idlib countryside. However, no casualties were reported.

In Damascus province, regime forces had carried out artillery shelling, targeting the villages and towns of Al-Fatirah, Filaifel, and Sufuhn in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, artillery shelling also targeted Maarat al-Naasan and Kafr Nuran.
