Repatriation of foreigners | Autonomous Administration prepares to hand over Russian children of ISIS families to Russian delegation

SOHR activists have reported that the Media Office of Department of External Relations in the Autonomous Administration in northern and eastern Syria, called media activists to attend the handing over of Russian children of ISIS families to Russian delegation, which will happen in Al-Da’aera headquarters in Al-Qamishly city.

Accordingly, the handover of children will occur tomorrow morning on April 14, 2022, and will be attended by a delegation of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On April 6, reliable sources informed SOHR that the Department of External Relations in Autonomous Administration in North and North-East Syria handed over two children of ISIS families to a British government delegation on a visit to the region. It is worth noting that the two children are orphans.
On March 31, SOHR reported that a delegation of German Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the headquarters of the Department of External Relations of “Autonomous Administration” in Al-Qamishli, where 22 German children and ten women of ISIS families were handed over to the German delegation under an official document signed between the German delegation and Autonomous Administration.
On March 16, reliable sources told SOHR that a Swedish delegation arrived at the headquarters of the Department of External Relations of “Autonomous Administration” in Al-Qamishli, where two women and their two children of SIS families had been handed over to the Swedish delegation on March 15.
The process of repatriation was done in accordance with an official document between the Autonomous-Administration of North and East Syria and the Kingdom of Sweden.
We, at the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), renew our appeal to the international community to find a lasting solution to “Al-Hawl mini-state” crisis, which is considered a clear and present danger to everyone. We also urge international human rights organisations to put an immediate and serious plan for rehabilitating women and children in the camp, who were saturated with ISIS ideology, especially with the large number of children and the widespread presence of the group cells in the camp that continue to impart their poisonous ideas to the residents of the camp, particularly women and children.
