Family feuds | Armed fight erupts and leaves casualties in SDF-held areas east of Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: Syrian Observatory activists have reported hearing an IED explosion in front of a house in SDF- controlled Al-Jarza village in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, causing material damage.

According to Syrian Observatory activists, the explosion comes in light of a clan dispute between groups of one family “Cousins.”

The village has also witnessed an exchange of fire between the two armed groups, injuring people, amid calls for the intervention of dignitaries in the area to resolve the conflict.

On April 11, violent clashes between cousins of Al-Shaitat tribe erupted in SDF-controlled town of Ghraninj in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor over an old vendetta, killing one person and wounding another who was taken to the hospital for treatment. According to SOHR sources, a civilian also was killed in these clashes.
