Deteriorating security situation in Daraa | Seven people killed in eight attacks in hours

Since early 2022, 150 attacks leave nearly 125 people dead in Daraa

Daraa province: Daraa province witnesses a dramatic escalation of rampant insecurity situation that prevails in various cities, towns, and villages which are under the control of regime forces and Iranian and Russian-backed militias, while Syrian regime is totally incapable of putting an end to chaos and insecurity that poses a threat to people safety and lives and worsens the catastrophic situation and the very poor living condition.

SOHR activists have documented eight attacks and crimes in 26 hours, specifically from Sunday evening until Monday evening. These attacks have left seven people dead; and they are as follows:

 

  • Three civilians.

 

  • Four regime military personnel and “collaborators” with security services.

 

These attacks have also left several people injured.

 

Here are further details of these crimes:

 

  • Unidentified gunmen shot dead a consultant and judge in Qitah in Daraa countryside

 

  • Unidentified persons threw a grenade at the house of a civilian working in money transfers in the eastern district of Nawa city in Daraa countryside, then they opened fires with light weapons, but left no casualties.

 

  • Two civilians accused of “promoting drugs” were injured by direct gunfire by unknown persons on Tafas-Daraa road. The two men were taken to the hospital for treatment.

 

  • The leader of a local group affiliated the Air-Force Intelligence service and his two escorts were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Khirbet Ghazaleh-Alma road in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

 

  • A man was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Al-Sanamayn city in northern Daraa countryside.

 

  • An assistant of the “Ninth Division” of the regime army was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on the outskirts of Aqraba town in the northern countryside of Daraa.

 

  • Regime soldiers were injured in an attack waged by unidentified gunmen on their military vehicle on Damascus-Daraa international highway between Izra’ and Namer towns, east of Daraa.

 

Since early 2022, the number of attacks in Daraa province has risen to 150, which left 124 people dead; and they are as follows:

 

  • 67 civilians, including a woman and three children.

 

  • 43 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

 

  • Seven former fighters who did not joined any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

 

  • An ex-ISIS member.

 

  • Five unidentified people.

 

  • A Russian-backed militiaman.
