Rising tension in Aleppo | “Military police” member shot dead by “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” gunmen in Jarablus city

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that a Turkish-backed “military police” member was shot dead by “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” gunmen in Jarablus city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo yesterday. The reason behind the murder remains unknown.

Following the murder, “Military police” and “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyah” brought in military reinforcement to the city, causing tension between them.

This comes in light of chaos, insecurity, and ongoing factional rivalries in the”safe zone” which is controlled by Turkish forces and “National Army” factions.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that a member of Amshat faction was killed and another wounded by Ahrar Al-Sham gunmen in the center of Jarablus in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, following disagreements between members of the two factions.
