The Syrian exodus in Lebanon: a scarecrow and a shaman

It is known that the Syrian displacement card is a scarecrow used by a group of people involved in political affairs away from the official political level, often according to a populist strategy that relies on stirring racist instincts and intimidating Christians in particular from a demographic change that affects them, specifically with the low percentage of their presence in Lebanon compared to other sects.

The head of the Free Patriotic Movement and the son-in-law of the President of the Republic, Representative Gibran Bassil, remains the most brilliant person who trades and exploits this card. Settlement leads to social imbalance.

He insists that he is the protector of Hama, and if it were not for him and his current, the Christians would have been searching at sea for a homeland that would harm them. If he is not merciful, he will rid them of their suffering, which was produced by this class of officials, in isolation from the Syrian exodus and others.

As for the official development in raising the file of the displaced Syrians in the ministerial meeting, it is the summit of political malice, and apart from being a hanger on which officials hang their failure to run the country and their inability to protect the Lebanese, secure the minimum level of their rights, and justify the described theft of their money and deposits, it has its open goals.

The most important of these goals is related to the file of financial aid in hard currency that is provided to Syrian refugees without going through official institutions capable of stealing it, in an effort to blackmail the international community, which requires reform in exchange for providing aid to these institutions in exchange for saving the collapsed Lebanese economy due to corruption and nepotism.

The irony is that those who uttered the cry of the state’s inability to bear the consequences of displacement are the allies of the Syrian regime, Minister of Labor Mustafa Bayram, affiliated with Hezbollah, and Minister of Social Affairs Hector Hajjar, affiliated with the Free Patriotic Movement, meaning President Michel Aoun and his collapsed son-in-law who aspires to inherit his uncle. .

Therefore, their political reference is best able to coordinate with this regime to discuss the file of the displaced Syrians and the means of ensuring their safe return to their homes, if the intentions are clear.

The paradox of the paradox is that the representative of Hezbollah said: “We have rights that we do not get. Today, it is enough for the Lebanese to see queues in front of banks and ATMs, while others of other nationalities receive direct aid in dollars (Fresh), and share water, electricity and resources with us. While we get nothing.” He added, “We find institutions, international organizations, and countries that conclude agreements with Lebanese associations and pay them in dollars without going through the Lebanese state, and frankly, this loose situation is no longer acceptable.”

It is known that the party does not recognize the state in the first place, and does not need it except to conduct its own business, as it has an army that boasts that it has more than one hundred thousand fighters, and that it pays their salaries in dollars (Fresh). More importantly, the party controls the borders with Syria through the illegal crossings, controls the smuggling of materials that were supported by the deposits of the Lebanese, and facilitates the smuggling of Syrians in both directions without any legal procedures in place.

It is known that Bassil benefits from the party that violates sovereignty and the law, and his existence depends on his alliance with him. It constitutes the Christian cover required to secure the predominance of illegal weapons to protect the interests of the Iranian axis in the region.

The terrible thing about Bayram’s words is that he referred to the high level of crime “as stated in the weekly reports of the security forces.” He ignores the fact that every crime that is not related to his party, its circumstances are revealed, and it is often individual, and the absence of the state is one of its causes, in the absence of these reports of major crimes related to assassinations and the bombing of the port of Beirut, and the list is long and difficult to investigate and the judiciary is prohibited from pursuing the perpetrators known by name. and place of residence.

Therefore, waving the file of the displaced Syrians with its timing seems malicious. If there is suffering as a result of the random influx of Syrians into Lebanon, it is mainly due to the weakness of the state and its institutions in regulating the affairs of this asylum since its inception, not to mention the political polarization that reflects the narrow alignments and special calculations of the interests of the parties and their external loyalties, which prevented the agreement on any effective plan that protects security The economy also preserves the human rights of these refugees.

In short, there is no justification for exaggerating matters and extremism in populist bids, and there is no need to blackmail the international community by raising the problem of the displaced Syrians. The solution exists if the sources of Lebanese sovereignty want it. It is sufficient for the state to restore this sovereignty, and it is sufficient to lift the hand of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards from it and its institutions, and it is sufficient for the allies of the Syrian regime, who adhere to the country’s decision, to take the initiative to coordinate with this regime to study ways of returning the displaced that are safe and respectful of human rights.

Oh God, unless what is required is the survival of the displaced in Lebanon as a scarecrow, so that Basil takes advantage of their tragedy and builds popularity in his Christian environment and implements the plans of those who are loyal to them… and a hanger that allows “Hezbollah” to outbid in its protest against the aid provided to them directly, to eat more into the flesh of the state and its institutions and is called Chastity as he rents public money to his own treasury.
