Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that unidentified warplanes have executed airstrikes on military positions of Iranian militias in Al-Ashara desert in Deir Ezzor countryside, where at least five loud explosions were heard due to airstrikes. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

It is worth noting that this is the third case of targeting on western Euphrates area in 2022.

On January 6, “unidentified” drones renewed their airstrikes on Iranian proxies’ positions in the western Euphrates region, targeting military positions in Al-Tabni area and Al-Masrab desert in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, causing material damages and casualties.
While on January 4, reliable sources informed SOHR of hearing loud explosions in areas under the control of Iran-backed factions in east Deir Ezzor in west Euphrates area.
The airstrikes that were conducted by unknown drones targeted hideouts of Iranian loyal factions in the vicinity of Mazaraa neighbourhood, Mazar Ain Aly, that is stationed on the outskirts of Al-Qouriyah city in Al-Esharah desert in east Deir Ezzor.
