Kurdish bombardment | Turkish soldier killed in north-western Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a Turkish soldier affected by the injury he sustained in the early morning in an attack by Kurdish forces on a Turkish military vehicle on the frontline of Kimar in “Olive Branch” area in the north-western countryside of Aleppo.

 

Earlier this morning, Observatory sources reported violent clashes in the early hours of Wednesday morning between factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” and Kurdish forces on the frontlines of Kimar, Mar’naz and Kafr Khasher in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

 

According to SOHR sources, the clashes followed an infiltration operation by Kurdish forces into positions on the frontlines with the “National Army” in Kimar village, amid exchange intensive bombardment by the two sides.

 

On the other hand, Turkish soldiers sustained injuries in bombardment by Turkish forces on the Turkish military base in Kaljibrin in northern Aleppo. Meanwhile, Turkish forces reacted the Kurdish bombardment, launching a large-scale campaign of violent bombardment with tens of rockets and artillery shells on areas where Kurdish forces are deployed. The Turkish rockets and shells hit positions near by Tel Rifaat, Sheikh Issa, Kafr Nasih, Mar’anaz, the outskirts of Deir Jamal, Oqaybah, Sawaghankah and Al-Ziyyarah. However, no further details were reported about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent bombardment.

 

On May 2, SOHR sources reported violent clashes with heavy and medium weapons between Kurdish forces and factions of the “National Army” on the frontline of Kafr Khasher village in north Aleppo countryside. The clashes coincided with intensive bombardment by Turkish forces, where over 100 rockets and shells were fired on the surrounding areas of Tel Rifaat city and conflict zones in Kafr Khasher, Ain Daqnah and the surrounding areas of Oqaybah village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside. No further details were reported about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the clashes and bombardment.
