Military escalation | Turkish forces shell Kurdish positions in Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces have fired heavy artillery shells on Harbal and Al-Shaikh Eissa villages among Kurdish-held areas in the northern Aleppo countryside. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

Earlier today, SOHR activists documented the death of a Turkish soldier affected by the injury he sustained in the early morning in an attack by Kurdish forces on a Turkish military vehicle on the frontline of Kimar in “Olive Branch” area in the north-western countryside of Aleppo.

Earlier this morning, Observatory sources reported violent clashes in the early hours of Wednesday morning between factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” and Kurdish forces on the frontlines of Kimar, Mar’naz and Kafr Khasher in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

According to SOHR sources, the clashes followed an infiltration operation by Kurdish forces into positions on the frontlines with the “National Army” in Kimar village, amid exchange intensive bombardment by the two sides.
