To establish fighters rest place | Al-Hamza Division expels family from its house in Ras Al-Ain

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that members of Al-Hamza Division, which is affiliated to the National Defence, have expelled a family living in a house in Ras Al-Ain “Sere Kanye” city after raiding the house, assaulting the women and the man of the family and arresting him, after they refused to leave the house.

The house is located near a military checkpoint of the same faction. The faction aimed to turn the house into a rest place for fighters of the faction.

As Turkish-backed factions continued looting civilian properties in “Peace Spring” area.

On April 29, SOHR activists reported that a man from Al-Shukriyah village in the eastern countryside of Ras Al-Ain found out that Turkish-backed factions seized his properties, when he returned to his village a few months ago.

In this context, the man called upon Jaysh Al-Islam to bring back his house and farmland, but the faction asked the man to pay 150,000 USD in return for bringing back the man’s properties.

The man later filed a complaint to the “Rights Restitution Committee” in Ras Al-Ain city more than to months ago. However, the committee didn’t take any action so far.

SOHR sources also confirmed that Turkish-backed factions took over houses in Ras Al-Ain city and refused to bring them back to their owners.

A few number of residents of Ras Al-Ain city and countryside in “Peace Spring” area managed to return to their houses after mediation and guarantees by tribe Arab elders, after proving that they had no earlier relations with the Autonomous Administration and SDF. These civilians were given IDs issued by the city’s “Local Council,” according to SOHR sources.
