Airdrop operation | Coalition arrests people for “association with Iranian-backed militias” in town east of Euphrates

Deir Ezzor province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that an airdrop operation was carried out by International Coalition forces at midnight on Tuesday, in Al-Shuhail town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, east of Euphrates. Coalition forces have targeted a house inhabited by a displaced family from Mayadeen city for “Association with Iranian-backed militias present on the other side of Euphrates River.”

According to the sources, nearly four months ago, the Coalition and SDF arrested a member of the same family on the same charge. The airdrops also saw participation by coalition aircraft, helicopters, and drones. The forces demanded that the people at the house surrender via loudspeakers, which has already happened today in a similar operation.

 

SOHR activists have just reported that an airdrop operation was carried out by International Coalition forces accompanied by Syrian Democratic Forces in Al-Shuhail town near a carpet factory in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

International Coalition and SDF forces have surrounded a house and called, via loudspeakers, the people at the house and anyone in the area to do not leave the house. No further details have been reported on the outcome of this operation nor on the identity of the targeted people, which took place during the night hours.

On May 7, SOHR activists reported that International Coalition and SDF, escorted with helicopters, drones and several trucks stormed Zaiban’s primary oil refineries eastern of Deir Ezzor and arrested several young men from the village and workers for unknown reasons, causing financial loss regarding the oil refineries estimated at thousands of dollars.

On May 4, SOHR activists reported that SDF military force raided the house of a doctor in Dheban village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, arresting the doctor and three of his siblings at this dawn. The reasons for the arrest remained unknown. SDF raid campaign was accompanied by flights by International Coalition helicopters.
It is worth noting that the doctor is from a regime-controlled Mahkan town on the bank of Euphrates river.
