Following disagreements over cattle herding | Family fight erupts in Homs countryside

Homs province: Reliable sources have told SOHR that clashes erupted between two families in Bolad village in Homs countryside following disagreements over herding of cattle in farmlands in the village. According to SOHR sources, a young man attacked several people, set three houses on fire and stole cows. Meanwhile, exchange of fire erupted between the two families, which resulted in serious injury of a young man, before regime security services interfered to break up the fight.

This coincides with the ongoing security chaos and proliferation of arms throughout Syria.

On April 21, SOHR activists documented the injury of three students in a mass fight in front of Al-Hawash university in Homs province.

According to SOHR sources, police patrols headed to the residential neighbourhood near Al-Hawash university in Al-Mazina town in Homs where they arrested three students who confessed to fighting with other students following altercation in public street, while other students managed to escape.

Following these events, the Media Office of the Head of Al-Hawash Private University issued a statement announcing an emergency meeting to be held on the following day to impose disciplinary proceedings against the students involved in this fight according to the law and the internal university’s system.
