Military escalation | Turkish military base in “Euphrates Shield” area shells two villages in Manbij
Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces stationed in Al-Tokhar base in “Euphrates Shield” areas north eastern of Aleppo have shelled areas held by regime forces and SDF-backed Manbij Military Council, where over 13 artillery shells and missiles hit positions in Awn Al-Dadat and Arab Hassan villages in Manbij countryside north eastern of Aleppo. However, no casualties have been reported yet.
On May 12, SOHR activists reported that the exchange of fire was going on for hours between Turkish forces and their proxies on one hand and the regime forces and the SDF-backed Manbij Military Council on the other hand, targeting positions of each other in the northern and eastern Aleppo countryside.
Turkish forces renewed shelling on Manbij countryside and Al-Sajor frontline, while the regime forces and Manbij Military Council shelled military positions of the Turkish forces in Jarablus countryside. However, no casualties were reported.
