Russian airstrikes | Warplanes shell ISIS positions in Al-Raqqa and Homs deserts

Russian warplanes execute over 230 airstrikes on Syrian desert since May.

Russian warplanes executed nearly 16 airstrikes yesterday, targeting positions sheltering ISIS fighters in Al-Rasafa and Al-Sokhna deserts in Homs and Al-Raqqa. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

Accordingly, the number of airstrikes executed by Russian fighter jets on ISIS hideouts in the Syrian desert since early May has risen to 236.
On May 6, SOHR activists reported seeing the arrival of military reinforcements by Russian-backed Palestinian militias of “LiwaaAl-Quds” to Al-Bokamal and Al-Asharah deserts in Deir Ezzor.
The reinforcements consist of 4×4 vehicles, heavy machineguns, and dozens of militiamen, in preparation for a combing operation in search of ISIS cells. This came amid flights by Russian fighter jets over the area.
