“De-escalation zone” | Turkish forces put on high alert following Turkish Defence ministry delegation visit

SOHR sources have reported that Turkish forces stationed at checkpoints and bases in “de-escalation” zone have been put on military alert, following the visit by a delegation of the Turkish Ministry of Defence led by the commander of the special forces of ground operations in the area, military parade and live-fire exercises.

This development comes in light of the escalation of bombardment in Putin-Erdogan area.

On May 9, SOHR activists in Putin-Erdogan area reported that since the early hours of Saturday morning, Turkish forces made a switch of troops in areas held by HTS and factions in Idlib province.

A convoy of 17 military vehicles, including three tanks, exited from positions in Jabal Al-Zawiyah towards Turkish territory through Khirbet Al-Jawz crossing in the western Idlib countryside, while another convoy of 14 vehicles, including one tank and nearly 50 soldiers, entered instead and headed towards Turkish military posts in Idlib countryside.
