Heavy casualties in Deir Ezzor | Seven people, including two children, killed and nearly 200 others injured in dust storm that engulfed eastern Syria

The death toll of the powerful dust storm that struck areas in eastern Syria has risen to seven people, including two children and a woman, in Deir Ezzor province due to suffocation. This dust storm has left nearly 200 people, including women and children, injured.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the death of four people, as a result of the dust storm that hit wide areas of Deir Ezzor, including a man and a little girl after one of the houses collapsed on them in Al-Joura neighbourhood in Deir Ezzor city.

The hospitals received dozens of cases of suffocation due to the heavy dust storm, the intense speed of the wind, the flying of trees, and the fall of large stones obstructing the vision and cutting power off several areas.
