SOHR:10 pro-Damascus fighters killed in deadliest attack in northern Syria in two years.

Ten militants loyal to Syrian regime forces were killed on Friday when a bus attacking militant factions transporting them to the north of the country reached its highest level in two years, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The observatory’s director, Rami Abdel Rahman, told AFP: “Factions positioned in western Aleppo attacked a bus carrying armed men loyal to Damascus arriving in the Shia-dominated towns of Nubli and Zahra, led by Rambouillet. others.”

According to the observatory, the identities of the factions that fired the rocket are unknown as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra) controls the area where other opposition factions are also present.

Abdel Rahman said the death toll was the deadliest as a result of attacks by militant factions since a ceasefire took effect in the region more than two years ago.

A ceasefire will take effect on March 6, 2020 in Idlib (northwest) and parts of neighboring provinces, including parts of the western village of Aleppo, declared by Moscow, Damascus and an ally of Turkey. The fighting factions, after a massive attack by regime forces, forced nearly a million people to flee the region, according to the UN.

The ceasefire agreement is largely maintained despite repeated violations on both sides of the conflict.

According to the observatory, the attack came after six members of opposition factions were killed last week in a rocket-propelled grenade fired by regime forces transporting them to a nearby area.

Since 2011, Syria has witnessed a bloody conflict that has killed nearly half a million people, led to massive destruction of infrastructure and productive sectors, and sent millions in and out of the country and beyond.
