Regarding discovery of mass grave | SOHR sources deny the rumours of media agencies

An authorized source of the Initial Response Team in Al-Raqqa has denied news circulated by media agencies regarding the discovery of mass grave in Al-Raqqa, or their participation in the news circulated by media agencies.

Reliable SOHR sources explained that the team aims to open two graves in Omar Bn Abd Al-Aziz school and in Al-Badow neighbourhood after reports by residents and arrival of the forensic team to investigate.

Moreover, sources confirmed that during the Initial Response Team was rehabilitated last year and was subjected to courses regarding discovery of bodies and analysis of samples via accurate devices by an Argentine team, in addition to increasing capabilities of the team.

It is worth noting that the number of graves discovered since 2018 has reached 29 graves, consisting of 6,000 bodies mostly unidentified.
