Anti-smuggling campaign | SDF raids crossings used for smuggling in Al-Shuhayl and targets with machineguns ferries en route to regime-held areas

Deir Ezzor province: Syrian Observatory activists have monitored a large-scale security campaign carried out by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on river smuggling crossings in SDF-held Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The forces have raided and targeted smuggling ferries en route to areas controlled by regime on the other side of Euphrates river with medium and heavy machineguns and rockets to damage them. No casualties have been reported yet.

On April 26, Syrian Observatory sources reported that a SDF patrol had raided ferries used by smugglers from Al-Shuhail town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor to transport oil to regime-held areas west of Euphrates, where SDF members clashed with regime soldiers stationed at a checkpoint in Hawija Al-Shamiyyah on the banks of Euphrates River, opposite to Al-Shuhail town, burning tankers loaded with diesel.
