Preparation for advanced military drills | Batch of Syrian fighters of Turkish auxiliary forces head to Turkey

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that a new batch of Syrian fighters acting as “auxiliary forces” to the Turkish army in the “de-escalation” zone in Idlib has headed to Turkish territory to attend a closed military training at Turkish army military bases.

The first batch that is en route to Turkey comprises 400 members, and it is scheduled to be followed by another batch of 300 fighters in the coming days.

The batches of Syrian fighters will undergo harsh and tough types of military training by special forces (commando) trainers who are responsible for ground battles and combat operations in Syria.

The course aims to graduate members of special forces associated with the Turkish forces in carrying out difficult tasks and attacks on Syrian territory.

Through these military drills, Turkey is also working to upgrade the fighting efficiency of Syrian fighters to be battle-hardened fighters and control their numbers.

Yesterday, May 16, SOHR sources reported that Turkish forces stationed at checkpoints and bases in “de-escalation” zone were put on high military alert, following the visit by a delegation of the Turkish Ministry of Defence led by the commander of the special forces of ground operations in the area, military parade and live-fire exercises.
