Backed by Coalition aircraft | SDF-backed Counter-Terrorism Forces arrest a woman and three men from camp hosting families of ISIS members in Al-Raqqah

Reliable SOHR sources have reported that the SDF-backed Counter-Terrorism Special Units (H.A.T.) arrested on Sunday a woman in her forties and three other men from the makeshift camp of Sahlat Al-Banat during a security campaign with International Coalition support. It is worth noting that the camp is adjacent to Tel Al-Bay’a cemetery, nearly three kilometres to the east of Al-Raqqah

According to SOHR sources, the security forces, backed by the International Coalition, arrested the four people, after they had obtained information about suspicious activity by ISIS supports aiming to create security chaos in the camp which hosts nearly 4,000 families from areas in Deir Ezzor and Al-Raqqah countryside and Iraq.

Observatory sources have also confirmed that the camp experienced an armed attack in April, when unknown gunmen opened fire on a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces, where the area of the camp is remote and easy to be reached from the northern and eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah and Al-Raqqah city.

According to SOHR sources, the arrested people are from the Iraqi city of Al-Qa’im on the Iraq-Syria border, where the camp hosts several families who have been evacuated from the third and fourth sections of Al-Hawl camp.

According to very reliable SOHR sources, several families have recently struck reconciliation deals with the Syrian regime and left the camp to Al-Bokamal area which is under the control of Iranian-backed militias.

On May 10, reliable sources informed SOHR that an airdrop was carried out by International Coalition Forces in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Al-Shuhail town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, east of Euphrates. Coalition Forces have targeted a house inhabited by a displaced family from Al-Mayadeen city for “association with Iranian-backed militias deployed on the other side of Euphrates river.”

According to the sources, Coalition and SDF arrested a member of the same family on the same charge nearly four months earlier. The latest airdrop also saw participation by Coalition fighter jets, helicopters and drones. The security forces asked the people at the house to surrender via loudspeakers, before these people surrendered.
