Third case of abandoned new-born babies in May | Baby found near residential neighbourhood in Rif Dimashq

19 cases documented so far in regime-controlled areas since early 2022

Reliable SOHR sources have reported that residents in the neighbourhood of Al-Baldah Al-Qadimah (the Old Town) in Jadidat Al-Fadl in Rif Dimashq found a new-born baby boy left by a man in front of a house, before the man escaped. While the residents informed the police station in the town. It is worth noting that this is the third case of abandoned new-born babies in May. It is also the 19th case in regime-controlled areas since early 2022, according to SOHR statistics.

 

In May 9, SOHR sources reported that a new-born baby girl was found at the “Mohammed Al-Durrah” school in Salah Al-Din district in Aleppo city.

 

While on May 1, SOHR activists reported that residents found a new-born baby in agricultural land in Tirmalah village in the northern countryside of Homs. The new-born baby was transferred to Al-Walid hospital in Al-Waer neighbourhood and placed in neonatal intensive care unit. According to the residents, the child aged a few hours.
