For “dealing with former Autonomous Administration” | Turkish-backed factions arrest civilians of Afrin for ransoms

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that a joint patrol between the Civil Police and Suqor Al-Shamal faction arrested a resident of Afrin from Kamrok village in Ma’batly district in Afrin countryside, for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.”

On the same context, a Military Police patrol arrested a civilian from Qarzihal village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, for “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration.”

It is worth noting that the arrests were arbitrary for collecting ransoms.

On May 12, reliable sources informed SOHR that the military police in Afrin released a civilian and his son, after they had paid a ransom of 5,000 USD. The two civilians who were displaced from Al-Mayser neighbourhood in Aleppo city had been arrested on May 11 for “communicating with SDF.”
In the same context, military police released a civilian from Kayla village in Bolbol district, after having arrested for “participating in guard shifts during the Autonomous Administration’s control of Afrin city.”
On the other hand, members of a patrol of military police arrested, on May 15, three civilians from Darkarih village in Maabatli district for “participating in guard shifts during the Autonomous Administration’s control of Afrin city.”
