Russian forces, equipped with advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, targeted Israeli planes as they were returning from an attack on Iranian areas in northwestern Syria on last week, according to an Israeli “Channel 13” news report.

According to information, the unprecedented incident happened on Friday night, when the Israeli Air Force bombed several targets near the city of Masyaf in northwestern Syria.

The report added that the regime’s army S-300 batteries were actually firing as Israeli planes were leaving the area, noting that the system was operated by the Russian army and could not be launched without its permission.

 

However, the radar did not succeed in shutting down Israeli planes, and therefore did not pose a serious threat to Israeli Air Force aircraft, according to the report.
