Affected by the injury he sustained in earlier bombardment | Turkish soldier dies in “Olive Branch” area

SOHR sources have reported that a Turkish soldier died today, succumbing to his wounds sustained in rocket fire targeted a Turkish military post in “Olive Branch” area in the northern countryside of Afrin on May 13. The rockets were fired from areas where regime and Kurdish forces are deployed in northern Aleppo.

 

On May 13, SOHR activists reported that regime militias fired artillery shells on a Turkish base in Al-Sheikh Suleiman area in west Aleppo countryside, injuring two Turkish soldiers. Turkish bases stationed in western countryside of Aleppo reacted the bombardment by shelling regime positions by artillery shells.

 

SOHR sources also reported that several rockets hit Turkish forces’ bases in Hazwan and the vicinity of Marea city, north of Aleppo, In addition, several rockets were fired at the foot of Jabal Aqeel, where a Turkish base is located, and some residential neighbourhoods in Al-Bab city, east of Aleppo. These rockets were fired from areas where regime and Kurdish forces are deployed in the north of Aleppo, amid reports of the injury of Turkish soldiers. Meanwhile, Turkish bases reacted the bombardment by shelling the vicinity of a Syrian regime checkpoint in Al-Sha’ala village in the northern countryside of Aleppo and Kurdish forces positions on the frontlines extending from Al-Bab city, east of Aleppo, to Marea city in the west. However, no casualties were reported.
