Despite firm security | Residents protest demanding release of detainees in regime prisons in Rif Dimashq

SOHR activists have reported that residents of Kanaker town in regime-held areas in the western Rif Dimashq, protested to demand the release of prisoners in regime prisoners.

Kanaker town witnessed several protests after the regime forces controlled Kanaker town, demanding the release of prisoners, in addition to security tension in the area.

On December 2016, the regime forces controlled Kanaker town following a “reconciliation” agreement with Islamic factions that took place in the area, where these factions handed over their weapons, in addition to the reconciliation of suspects of the security services and the release of some regime prisoners.
