Daraa security chaos | Regime officer dies of wounds sustained in IED attack in western Daraa countryside
SOHR activists have reported that a lieutenant of regime forces from Khalidiyah village in Hama countryside died of wounds he sustained in an IED attack on May 14, when an IED exploded in the western countryside of Daraa.
On May 14, SOHR sources reported hearing an explosion in Nawa city in the western countryside of Daraa. The explosion was caused by the detonation of an IED near the automated bread bakery in Nawa city, which injured two regime soldiers. After the explosion, numerous security service patrols were deployed in the city and along the road between Nawa and Al-Rufayd.
Since early 2022, the number of attacks in Daraa province has risen to 201, which left 169 people dead; and they are as follows:
• 83 civilians, including two women and four children.
• 68 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.
• Ten former fighters who did not join any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.
• An ex-ISIS member.
• Six unidentified people.
• A Russian-backed militiaman.
