Second time in May | Young man commits suicide by consuming “gaz pill” in Idlib

A young man displaced from Ma’arat Al-Na’man city has committed suicide by consuming a “gas pill”, leading to his death.

The young man lives in Idlib city, and committed suiced due to the poverty and deteriorating living conditions.

It is worth noting that this is the second incident of its kind in May.

On May 11, SOHR sources reported that a 16-year-old boy from Basqla village in Idlib countryside committed suicide in a refugee camp in Deir Hassan in north Idlib. According to SOHR sources, the boy had a “rice tablet” (tablet of Aluminum Phosphide which is readily available as a fumigant for stored cereal grains) over stress and lack of awareness, which caused his death.

On April 26, SOHR sources reported that two suicides of two girls occurred in areas controlled by Turkish forces and affiliated factions in Aleppo countryside on Tuesday evening.

According to SOHR sources, a 20-year-old girl hanged herself in her house in Marea city, north of Aleppo. While a girl under the age of 18 committed suicide by taking drugs overdose in Ehtamilat village in Azaz countryside, north of Aleppo. No further details about the motives for suicide were reported.
