Idlib | HTS arrest deputy of senior commander (Emir) of jihadist “Ansar Al-Islam”

Idlib province: SOHR activists have reported that security forces of HTS arrested the deputy of the Emir of “Ansar Al-Islam”, who is one of its prominent commanders, in “Harim” area northern of Idlib.

It is worth noting that the detainee is the jihadist “Abo Al-Darda’a Al-Kurdy” and one of the most prominent jihadists in the area.

On April 4, HTS released Abo Abd Al-Rahman Al-Mikky, who is a Saudi jihadist of Hurras Al-Din, after he was detained for years.

HTS had arrested “Al-Mikky” in February, 2020. He underwent a hunger strike with his fellow prisoners after they were harassed inside the prison, while his former Syrian companion “Mas’ab Kan’an” was killed by a strike by the “International Coalition” in Idlib countryside.

SOHR activists reported that over the past two days, HTS security services carried out a large-scale raid campaign in different areas in Idlib and its countryside, arresting seven jihadists, including two Egyptian jihadists.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham members stole the entire properties in the jihadists’ houses; their money, weapons, phones and laptops.
This came as a part of the ongoing anti-jihadist campaign launched by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham in areas under its control in order to impose unilateral full control and domination in areas in Idlib and parts of the countryside of Aleppo, Latakia and Hama.
