Violations in Aleppo | Al-Hamza commander assaults residents in Shirawa district

Aleppo province: a commander of Al-Hamza Division known initially as “J.Z.” severely beat six young men from Kaimar village in Ma’batly district, after they refused working in the digging of trench in the vicinity of the camps of Al-Hamza Division on the outskirts of Kaimar village without charges.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the commander demanded the residents that own tractors to gather in front of the Division’s headquarters in the village and force them to work without charges in the agricultural lands that the faction overtook.

It is worth noting that those refusing to work would be arrested and accused of “dealing with the former Autonomous Administration”. Moreover, the commander threatned farmers to loot their harvest if they don’t pay royalties under the name of “protection taxes.”

On May 20, SOHR activists reported that armed men of the Turkish-backed “National Army” factions assaulted a civilian from Walika village in Rajo district by severely beating him on May 17, after the civilian tried to prevent the faction members from cutting olive trees and herd sheep in his fields.

Moreover, a member of Al-Amshat faction in Shaikh Al-Hadid district severely beat a civilian from the district on May 13, and insulted him in front of the residents, without knowing the reasons.
