Syrian desert | Regime warplanes target ISIS hideouts in eastern Hama desert amid decline of Russian activity

In the light of Russian preoccupation with the war against Ukraine and a decline in Russian aerial bombardment on the Syrian desert, compared to the period before the start of the Russian war against Ukraine, SOHR activists have reported that two regime warplanes target ISIS hideouts in Uqayribat desert in eastern Hama countryside.

On May 23, Regime forces lost contact with a group composed of an officer, a non-commissioned officer and several members, while they were carrying out combing operations in the Syrian desert looking for ISIS cells.

According to reliable SOHR sources, helicopters were flying over Homs desert and Palmyra looking for the missing group of members, without being able to find them. Meanwhile, groups of regime forces were stationed in the centre of Palmyra after finishing the combing operations.
