Claiming that “mingling violates Sharia” | Two ISIS members disperse crowd of civilians in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that two ISIS member have roamed the 20th Street in Al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The two ISIS members fired bullets in the air with the aim of dispersing a crowd of men and women in front of a house in that street, after they had informed the civilians that mingling between males and females in one place is prohibited in Islam.

 

This comes in light of the escalating ISIS activity in SDF-held areas.

 

On May 24, SOHR activists reported that gunmen, believed to be ISIS members, executed a civilian from Al-Zarr town, east of Deir Ezzor.

 

According to reliable SOHR sources, the civilian was accused of “carrying out robberies”, where he was found shacked with gunshots wounds.

 

While on May 18, SOHR activists reported that unidentified gunmen fired RPG shells and machineguns on an SDF military checkpoint in the water station of Al-Zarr town in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, where SOHR sources confirmed that the gunmen are ISIS members, as clashes erupted between both sides with machineguns. However, no casualties were reported.
