IED attack | Explosion targets regime military vehicle in western Daraa, leaving casualties

SOHR sources have reported the explosion of an IED in a regime military vehicle on the road between Sheikh Saad and Nawa in western Daraa. The explosion killed an officer and injured other soldiers escorting him.

 

SOHR sources have also reported that security services have put high alert in the area after the IED attack.

 

This coincides with the ongoing security chaos across south Syria region.

 

Since early 2022, the number of attacks in Daraa province has risen to 225, which left 181 people dead; and they are as follows:

 

  • 89 civilians, including two women and four children.

 

  • 72 regime military personnel, “collaborators” with security services and members with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

 

  • Ten former fighters who did not joined any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

 

  • An ex-ISIS member.

 

  • Seven unidentified people.
